How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
Their work really describes who they are and what they're able to do. When I first started in tech, I made the same generalization that many others probably do. But upon entering the field, I saw it was filled with so many characters and so many hobbies.
People organize themselves however they like. There are some guidelines and expectations for teams, but the freedom to organize your own projects lets you express who you are. So you see all different types of thinkers.
Everybody is typically really dedicated and able to do so many cool things. You find a lot of overthinkers, a lot of perfectionists, and a lot of overachievers. Then you have that magic person who stresses everyone out. They seemingly aren't doing anything, but then they do everything in one second.
That's just who they are. It's not how I would do things, but you get everything done, and that's how they do things. It's filled with characters, filled with humans. Everybody's good at what they're doing. They're problem solvers, endless problem solvers.
They're thorough, so nothing slips by in the environments I've been in. If you notice something and don't acknowledge it, you should fix it or say something about it because somebody else will see it. Everybody's focused and just going forward, always building something better. So, really forward-thinking, I would say.
