What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
One of the biggest challenges, and also one of the things I enjoy the most, is being challenged and changing things. I enjoy the rhythm of constant change.
There's pressure from the market, which moves so fast that you can lose a transaction in seconds. If you don't think fast, or give the trader the right information to set a fair price, you can lose a lot of money.
The biggest challenge is to always be awake and present in the moment. You need to be ahead of what's happening so you have the capability to change what you're doing in seconds, or respond to a client immediately to avoid losing a transaction.
Being in a dynamic environment, in a market that runs from 8:30 to 1:30, is enjoyable because it's challenging and you never get bored. However, it's also a big challenge because there's no time to chill or relax.
You need to be in the market, capable of reacting as fast as possible, and thinking very quickly. At the beginning, it was a challenge because I wasn't used to that rhythm or thinking in fractions of seconds. But with practice, it becomes easier.
