Transcript

Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Did you have any internships or jobs before your current role?

In college, I was heavily involved in my major program, Justice and Peace Studies. As part of that program, I volunteered with an organization that worked with young people, mostly middle schoolers, who were involved in the court system.

I used the connections from that volunteer position to secure my first job at Seeds of Tomorrow. This organization also worked with the same population. Initially, I worked as a teacher for their GED program, but I was soon promoted to a program coordinator role.

I was at Seeds of Tomorrow for about three years. I then became curious about working for a larger nonprofit organization. I took on temporary roles at various nonprofits before joining American Institutes for Research in a project management position.

At American Institutes for Research, the focus was on creating accessible educational assessments, similar to the SAT and high school exit exams. During my time there, my division was purchased by Cambium Assessment. This is how I ended up in my most recent role at Cambium Assessment.
