Significant Career Lesson From a Freelance Nonprofit Consultant and Project Manager
Manaf, a nonprofit consultant and freelance project manager, emphasizes the importance of "end[ing] a project or end a client relationship...on a really great note," as much as starting well, because "people remember the last interactions." This approach is particularly relevant given the nature of Manaf's varied career, moving between gigs and contracts.

What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?
The one lesson I've learned that has been significant to my career is to not be redundant and to share something new. I think it's important for people to remember that as important as it is to start working with a client or begin a job in a really great way with strong impact, it's also really important to end a project, end a client relationship, or leave a job on a really great note with great impact as well.
People remember you and the last interactions they've had. So as you continue through your career and jump from gig to gig, consultancy to freelance project, or contract gig to full-time job, remember to start on a great note, but make sure you end on a great note too.
