What does a day in the life of an associate consultant look like?
What does a day in the life of an associate consultant look like? I've been on client-facing cases for the past two years. It's always relative to the type of case you're on and where your client is located.
Currently, I'm working on an oil and gas case based in Texas. I wake up pretty early, as I'm on the West Coast. I'm usually at my desk by six to get caught up on emails before the folks in Texas start working.
Generally, client work is from about 6:00 AM until maybe three in the afternoon, which is close of business for them. Afterward, from three to five or later, I focus on internal work.
The client work itself can be super variable, contingent upon the case. You can get anything from Agile coaching to a cost-savings initiative.
I'm not sure I can provide helpful specifics on what it would look like for you, but just ensure that you're okay with flexibility in hours and can be available to meet clients.
