How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

I would say one type of person is someone who likes fast-paced environments. If you're in tech, it's going to be fast-paced. It's going to be a little chaotic at times, and often very unstructured.

Tech companies do grow and stabilize, but at its core, tech is often unstable and chaotic. Things are always changing, and your role is always changing. You're wearing multiple hats, which means you're doing different jobs.

So, people who thrive in fast-paced and somewhat chaotic environments tend to do very well in tech.

Another big factor is people who are very career-driven. If you're looking for a job mainly for a paycheck and have other passions outside of work, you might prefer a larger, more established company.

However, people who thrive in tech are those who aim for specific career goals. They want to become a VP of sales, CFO, manager, director, or whatever their desired title may be.

This is a beautiful aspect of tech; you can find yourself in an early-stage company and become a VP of sales at a young age. I've seen that happen frequently.

So, people who are career-driven and want to climb the corporate ladder will do very well because it's possible in tech. This ability to climb quickly, if you're in the right company, drives many people.
