What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

These aren't my words, but I very much believe in them: ethics, integrity, and attitude are your most valuable assets. Don't ever compromise these in your personal or professional life.

We've all heard of police officers whose careers have been ruined based on lapses in judgment, especially when it applies to these core values. Ethics is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

Your integrity is something that cannot be taken from you; you can only give it away. Your attitude is how others see you and therefore judge you.

Having a strong sense of what these three core values mean to you will help carry you throughout your career, ensuring a long-lasting one.
