Significant Career Lesson From a VP of IT Operations at EAH Housing

As VP of IT Operations, a key lesson Leslie has learned is that "it's never too late to learn," especially in the ever-evolving tech field, and to understand that learning is a constant process where even employees provide opportunities to "improve on [one]self." What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

It's never too late to learn. We are constantly taking tech classes to understand new trends and what's out there.

There's a saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks," and while that might seem true, it's actually very applicable. I feel people are hesitant to hire older individuals in this field, but it's all about learning.

Everyone starts without knowing everything. There's always a learning process and classes available, including on-demand tech courses.

Overall, it's never too late to learn. I'm constantly learning too. I oversee a department and learn more from my employees every day, which has been critical for my self-improvement.
