What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
In my role, the most important thing is advising my clients with their applications. This includes the basics, like resume editing and essay brainstorming. I also help with interview practice and general advice when they have questions about programs.
I help them do research and work with them collaboratively. However, I think what's more important, and what I really love about my role, is that I see myself as both a consultant and a coach.
My primary purpose is to be a support system. Applying for an MBA or Masters, especially if you're moving abroad to a US university, is a significant life step. It's not just about attending university; it's also about adapting to a different country and culture.
My goal is to help clients build their confidence. Many of them are unfamiliar with US customs, or only know them from movies. Working with me, they gain confidence. I tell them, "You're working with an American MBA graduate."
I teach them how to function and navigate customs. At the same time, I enjoy supporting them with sustainable life skills. I help them work towards success in general.
Success isn't just about hard skills; it also involves soft skills. I assist them with these, particularly communication.
