What are your main responsibilities within your current role?

At Siegfried, we specialize as design consultants. As civil design consultants, we prepare construction documents for buildings and parking structures.

Some of those buildings include medical office buildings, schools, small modular buildings, and so much more. Basically, in my role, everything outside of the building footprint within our property is what we take care of.

We start with existing conditions and communicate with the contractor what we're keeping and what we're demolishing. Then we move into paving and site design, laying out parking lots and walkways, and all the fun stuff that makes it pretty when you're walking around.

From there, we move into a grading design where we direct the flow of stormwater. So, when you see ponding, it means the flow is going somewhere it wasn't supposed to. We also do underground utilities, such as storm drainage, sanitary sewer, domestic water, fire hydrant layout, and fire sprinklers.
