What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I think because I get to touch a lot of different aspects of what happens here at the treatment plant and the special district, the variety means I rarely get bored. I like to keep busy; idle hands are the devil's workshop, or something like that.
Being challenged with new things and having to learn how to do them is what I enjoy. One of the first things I had to do when I got to the district was deal with a storm disaster declaration and apply to FEMA.
FEMA is the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Dealing with the bureaucracy of FEMA was quite a learning experience. I'm glad I had that opportunity, and I hope I never have to do it again.
So, having that kind of variety is really what I enjoy most.
