What is your biggest challenge in your role?

I would say there are a lot of different teams I talk to. Navigating that kind of goes through the storytelling and communication skills needed within my role. So, a short answer is to be a good business partner.

When you work with different teams, they have different objectives and purposes for what they're trying to get out of the data. You're kind of stuck in the middle sometimes, and you have to finesse it in a way where you can come to a compromise.

I would say it's actually very similar to group projects in college. It depends on the type of people you work with. You don't necessarily know how someone's going to react when you take a larger role in the project versus if you take a step back. It's about threading the needle with different personalities.

It is probably one of the biggest things within my role. Revenue is such a big metric for Dexcom, that some people want the numbers sooner rather than later. But that kind of compromises the accuracy of the numbers as well. Things of that sort do become a challenge, but it's all been fun.
