What do you enjoy most about being in the retail industry?
Let me think about that for a second. What I really enjoy most about retail is that there's a tangible product, and people really enjoy it.
Big Five has a real history in SoCal and the West Coast. So, anytime I tell somebody where I work from, I usually get really warm responses about how they grew up going to Big Five.
Their dad took them to get soccer cleats, and they played on the team. It's really great to have that connection with the customer and things like that. In some of my other roles, it's been a lot less tangible, but I can see the results of what I do.
I can just go to a store and see what we do. So I really enjoy that aspect of our business. My function within it is to really help support that storefront, that store manager, and to help build the capabilities that really bring a direct connection to consumers in SoCal.
So, I really enjoy being able to touch, see, and feel our product. Those are the pieces of retail that I really do enjoy.
