What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
The tech industry is a fun one. I know it's been hit a little recently, but tech is always changing and evolving. If it stays the same, it dies.
That really speaks to me because I'm super competitive by nature. The idea that what we've built is great for now, but won't be great in the future, means we're always scrambling to do something new. That keeps it exciting and is pretty standard across the entire tech industry, not just at TikTok. I definitely love that.
Another thing I love is being able to see my work "in the wild." Even when I was interning at a fashion company, I saw a billboard for a campaign I worked on. I remembered doing that photoshoot. Any time I get to see what I work on out in the world is really cool.
So, specifically in tech, I scroll TikTok as a consumer like everyone else. But now, every time I see an ad, you might not notice, but sometimes the ad formats change. The CTA buttons might be bigger or more prominent in certain campaigns. Seeing that stuff and knowing my team worked on it is a really fun feeling.
Both speaking to my competitive nature of liking to drive out new things and change them, as well as seeing those changes in the wild this way, I think the tech industry is a really, really exciting place to be.
