What do you enjoy most about being in your current role as senior manager of sustainability?
I got lucky. When I left Informa, I was very much a sustainable event planner. That was my life for years.
I was grateful to have the opportunity to work as a sustainable event planner for years. Following that, they really laid the groundwork for my experience, my knowledge base, and my network.
At Freeman, I'm able to use all of that information I've been collecting and educate, turning it into something scalable. Freeman works as the event producer for all the planners; we build small cities and then tear them down.
In my role, I was originally on the client side. Being on this side of things, I can see both sides of the table. Using my influence and experience from the industry perspective is so nice. It's good to know I can use my experience to create something positive and feel like my time was worthwhile and that I can actually help.
