Julia, an Associate Buyer at Elyse Walker, thrives on the "day-to-day newness" and impactful nature of the fashion industry, citing the "unreal" travel perks as a bonus. The creative process, which she views as an "intimate art," requiring "artistic talent" to decide what is presented to the world, is what truly fuels her passion.

What do you enjoy most about being in the fashion industry?
It's so fun to be involved in the day-to-day newness that everyone is looking at. The perks are amazing, and the travel is unreal.
Being a part of an industry that is so impactful in people's daily lives is something I truly love. Whether you acknowledge it or not, you're always paying attention to fashion every single day when you put on your clothing. I love that.
I also truly believe it is an art. It takes real artistic talent to be a designer, to style, or to buy. It really takes a lot of creativity to decide what is going to be put out into the world.
There's also a lot of intimacy in telling a stranger, "This is something that I made, and I think you should put it on your body and wear it for everyone else to see." So that is what I love. I really feel like fashion is an intimate art. I know everyone has their own opinions about it, but I will die on the hill that it is an intimate art.
