What does the day in the life of a program manager look like?
What's great about being a program manager is that you really maintain and own your own schedule. You are responsible for the end-to-end delivery and completion of objectives or priorities. It's pretty much on you to decide how that happens and how that gets done.
For me, the day-to-day generally looks like waking up and checking to see any messages or emails I have. Normally, I have a pretty preset schedule where I know what I wanted to accomplish that week. I have different meetings with stakeholders or other folks involved in my program.
It's kind of a combination of working on my own individual work, communicating that to other people, and having meetings. There's also all the other stuff related to the day-to-day at the company.
But it's not very rigid. It's almost like "choose your own destiny" in terms of how you want to work and what times you're most productive. At the end of the day, you own the accountability for making sure your program gets delivered.
