What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

Reflecting on my accomplishments, like getting into Teach for America and teaching my kids AP Spanish, and them passing the exam, to getting into business school and landing a consulting job without prior experience. All these achievements have taught me one thing.

I think I saw a TikTok where Oprah was talking about this. She said you first need to become very clear about what you want to accomplish. Once you figure that out, everything you do needs to align with that goal. That's how people become successful.

If you have ten lofty goals and try to do all of them, you're probably not going to achieve any. For me, I've always taken time to reflect on what I want to do, why I want to do it, and how I'll get there. Once I figured out that goal, everything I did from that point forward was to try and achieve it. Most of the time, it's worked.

So, I think the biggest lesson is if you want to achieve something, you first need to gain clarity on what it is. Then, do everything you can to get there and stay super focused. That's how you accomplish things, and that's what has worked for me.
