What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?

Many large consulting firms hire summer interns, and these positions are usually very competitive. Deloitte, for instance, has a program they call the Summer Scholar Experience.

This program allows interns to work at Deloitte for the summer and potentially receive an offer. At Deloitte, you typically start as an analyst. Within a couple of years, you'd become a consultant, and then a senior consultant. That's the general hierarchy.

However, if you have an MBA, you can often get an internship and then an offer at a consulting company, starting directly as a senior consultant. This skips two levels.

While still technically entry-level for consulting, you're placed higher due to your master's degree. For me, specifically with Teach for America, I had friends who taught for two years and then went to Deloitte. They were promoted quickly because they already had work experience.

Teach for America also has partnerships with firms like Deloitte, PwC, and McKinsey. This offers an alternative path into consulting. There are other things you can do post-undergrad to get into consulting. These are just a few ways to start off.
