Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Any internships or jobs you had before your current role?
I did my undergrad at the University of Texas in Austin, double majoring in theater and dance and Spanish education. During my undergraduate years, I was involved in various activities.
I was an officer for the Spanish Honor Society and an administrator for an after-school program at an elementary school in the lower part of Austin. I also participated in several plays. I was part of an LGBTQ+ group for Trinity and, at one point, worked at a movie theater for a bit.
After graduating, I joined Teach for America. I taught middle school Spanish in Houston full-time. I was also an officer for the LGBTQ+ community in Houston for teachers also doing TFA.
After teaching, I joined the recruitment team for Teach for America. I became a university recruiter, recruiting at several universities, including USC, UT Austin, and NYU. During my time on the recruitment team, I also handled hiring and interviewing.
I also did Learning and Development sessions for staff and managed recruiters. After five years, I joined a business school program and got my MBA at UT Austin. I was an officer for the equal LGBTQ+ community and interned at Deloitte as a summer associate, where I received a full-time offer.
I am currently halfway through my first year as a senior consultant at Deloitte.
