Favorite Parts of Working in the Sports Industry as a Merchandise and Marketing Manager

Jordan enjoys being in the sports industry, as opposed to healthcare, because one gets to work with people who are there "for leisure and for recreation" in an environment that is fun and where "people want to be there". Furthermore, as a kinesiology major, Jordan believes that "we need to be constantly focusing on our physical health. And sports is a very easy medium to do that."

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

When I was an undergrad, I was considering physical therapy. I realized that would be more within the healthcare industry.

After being in that field for a year and a half, I understood I wanted to be more involved in the sports industry. I wanted to work with individuals who were there for leisure and recreation.

I envisioned an environment where it's fun and people genuinely want to be. Sports are amazing; they build communities among strangers who can rally behind something.

As a kinesiology and exercise science major, I believe we need to stay active and consistently focus on our physical health. Sports provide an accessible way to do that. It's exciting to compete and have fun.
