What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I think the opportunity to build and develop something that contributes to saving patient lives is a big motivator. That's the thing that gets you up in the morning. Hopefully, our platform will enable cell therapies to be made and go on to treat many patients. That's a huge motivator.
I also like the variety. Every day is vastly different from the previous one, and that excites me, keeps me motivated, and keeps me on my toes.
And then there's also having my own career destiny, I suppose. This is the first time I've co-founded a company, and that's quite exciting. It gives a lot more responsibility and the ability to forge your own path.
You can develop things the way you want to, rather than perhaps the way a big corporation might want you to. That comes with its own challenges, but it's definitely freeing. It really allows you to focus on what you want to focus on.
