What did you do in college to set you up for success in your career?

In college, I focused on a few key things. I'm someone who wants to learn as much as possible, so I made sure to take the correct classes. Pre-requisites were always my top priority, even if I didn't enjoy them.

This approach allowed me to decide which career path to pursue. I took classes like human anatomy and physiology while working at a refinery, as I had an inkling I wanted to go into healthcare.

I also obtained a BLS certification, which covers CPR and related skills. Additionally, I got a medical terminology certification. Even before that, I took classes that I found beneficial and enjoyed.

I took many computer science classes to learn applications like Microsoft Office. I also took drafting and engineering classes because they sparked my interest and helped me understand different nuances. My goal was to learn and read as much as possible.

Once you obtain the necessary certifications or a degree, you can always build upon that. I always wanted to ensure I was taking the right classes. This way, you can branch off into further education if desired.
