Jessica, an Operations and Chief of Staff, learned the importance of understanding differing skill sets while collaborating, stating that "working with people, you have to understand each other's skill sets". This lesson emerged from producing a Barbie-themed fashion show, where their detail-oriented approach contrasted with their boss's big-picture focus; successfully navigating this difference highlighted the value of complementary skills in achieving a shared goal.

What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?
This is a bit of a niche one, but I think a big touchpoint in my career was over the summer. We did a Woman Empowered fashion show, and it was all Barbie-themed around the movie. Warner Brothers actually gave us a bunch of props and were involved in the process, which was amazing.
I learned that I am an extremely detail-oriented person. This goes down to how you invite people on emails and make them feel special. It also involves isolating specific groups you want to be there. We had a big database of women-owned businesses that we personally invited. I even made the whole fashion show runway and the stage.
There were definitely times my boss and I had different ways of looking at things. She's very big-picture, and I'm more about needing all the details along the way to get to the big picture. I've really learned that when working with people, you have to understand each other's skill sets.
If my boss is looking at the budget and saying, "This is how much I want to spend," and I'm thinking, "Okay, this is how much we want to spend, but within that, we have to have these small things for it all to work," it's important to identify those skill sets. You have to be able to say, "You are better at this, but we also need this, and how can we work together?"
