What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
I'd say the biggest challenge that I personally experience is probably not having enough time. I own several businesses, where one is very client-focused.
I have to not only solve problems in my businesses, but also in my clients' businesses. My time is very limited because I have to allocate it accordingly.
I'm also a single mom, so having time is crucial. Time management is so important. There are days where I feel like I've knocked it out of the park, and there are days where I feel like I'm drowning and don't know how I'm going to get through.
But I think there's always a solution to everything. I don't do brain surgery; I don't save people's lives. So for me, I know there's always going to be a way to solve something. It may not be the ideal way, but I know I'm going to be solving something. I'm never worried about that.
For me, it's just time. I just don't simply have enough time. So, how do you solution it? How do you fix it? Really finding ways to be more efficient.
This means whether you need to take extra time to implement systems and then rely on those systems, because in the long run you're going to get more efficiency, or automating certain things. I'm always looking for that.
And then, life hacks are also super important. If you're going to make some food, make enough that you can have meals for a couple of days. I know that sounds basic and trivial, but it's really true. When you're super busy and on the go, you've got to nourish yourself.
But how do you do that? You're not always going to have an hour every night to make dinner, especially if you have a last-minute urgent call or a fire that you have to put out. So, I'm always looking for how I can make things more efficient in my entire life.
This applies not just to work, but to my entire personal life as well. Those two are so interconnected, particularly when you're a business owner. You're never really separated from either one of them; they're always interrelated.
