What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
Time? I think the one thing I can't control is the amount of time in a day. Almost everything I do is a priority, but there are only so many hours in a day. My mom always says everything only takes 15 minutes, but you only have so many 15 minutes in a day.
For me, it's not having enough time to do everything I need to do, which speaks to the time management aspect. I consider myself someone who's really good at time management. I've even found that I have to switch up how I'm doing things, or I'm not going to be as effective as possible.
Plus, on top of all the stuff I have to do, I want every person that I manage to have my undivided attention when they need it. I think the best editors are the ones that can shut everything else out and focus on one article at a time when they need to. It's unfair to my writers if I'm not giving them a hundred percent of my energy when they need it.
