What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I am a generalist, and I love learning. I get to learn about all different kinds of topics because we work with so many authors. We cover anything that is an environmental solution.
I've learned about water desalination plants, accessibility in transportation, and when activists won the fight against the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. These are the kinds of topics that are so great to not just learn about, but to truly meet the people who are doing the work.
These are people who are taking their time to write a story because they are deeply knowledgeable experts. While they have to know so much about one topic, I get to have a conversation, learn about them, and then I get to talk about it.
Sometimes I have to say, "Oh, that's a very specific question; you're going to have to ask the author." The best part of my job is meeting these people who are so passionate about saving the planet and getting to know them. That's what I love.
