What A Software Support Manager At A Mid-size Influencer Marketing SaaS Company Wishes They Had Known Before Entering The SaaS Industry

Jarred, a Software Support Manager, wished for prior training in "General professional work organization," especially time management techniques crucial for middle management where dedicating time to strategic work is challenging. The lack of this upfront guidance meant Jarred had to learn valuable skills "on the job," a process made more difficult by their low conscientiousness.

Whatever you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?

I think some initial coaching on general professional work organization would have been awesome. It would have been better than having to learn it on the job.

It's good that I learned it on the job, and that's how many important skills are acquired. However, I feel like even a quick seminar on how to organize your workday would have been helpful.

This is especially true in middle management, where it becomes difficult to make time for your own work. Perhaps your own strategic work.

I am a very low conscientiousness person, which means I have a harder time sticking to a particular task. This is very draining, so finding tactics and strategies to facilitate a productive workday would have been a helpful thing to learn before jumping in.
