What skills are most important for a job like yours?

I would say that in this type of position, middle management specifically, you need to have quite a wide array of skills. You may not need a huge depth in any particular skill, but you need to be comfortable in many different situations. It's also important to be able to use the vernacular from different teams.

From a high level, this means being comfortable with ambiguity and understanding how to find information. Developing your internal team network is key.

Beyond that, I would say general human skills are important, especially communication, particularly written communication in the remote workforce. This is a skill that is often overlooked these days. Being able to remove a lot of ambiguity in your written communication is huge.

Finally, you need to be comfortable being around and working with others.
