What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
Famous for the music, I think going back to my earlier comment on just being fascinated by investment capital markets and their dynamic nature. Besides technology, by nature of being an investment person, you look at technology as both an investment and a useful tool to help you do your job constantly.
In that way, you have to be at the forefront of learning about all sorts of different things. I'm a futurist in the sense that I'm really optimistic about the world and what it's going to be like in 25 or 30 years. It's really fun to be part of it and just from observing it.
I also think the investment business has rightfully received a lot of pushback and negative publicity for various reasons. Being a person who thinks I'm bringing about better change is inspirational to me. I like being able to do that.
I love when a friend gets something explained by another person and I can explain it better. I think that's entertaining. That's largely an outcome of so much studying and being around things for so long, but also just having a commitment to humanity.
