What skills are most important for a job like yours?

The ability to learn is crucial because things are always changing. The half-life of knowledge isn't very long. Coupled with the ability to learn is the ability to unlearn. Things you thought were true and relied upon may no longer work.

You need to be flexible enough to realize this. I'm actually finding unlearning harder than learning, and I think that's number one.

The other thing we talked about a little is effective communication. How do you get your ideas across, especially if you're an influencer? It's not command and control; you're trying to influence opinion. You need good communication skills, which is probably good for you to hear.
