What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?

I really love the people that I'm meeting every day. I typically meet a lot of new people because I'm interviewing different volunteers, or I am learning about people's skills from our community. I just love meeting different people through my job.

I think that is something I didn't realize was so important to me until I got into this position. I had pretty typical tech jobs up until my role now at this nonprofit, and I didn't really get to interact with so many different types of people.

I was pretty much in my lane and stayed focused. I am very extroverted and get a lot of energy from people. So, something that probably should have been obvious to me earlier on is that I should incorporate some form of meeting new people.

In this particular nonprofit, it's so aligned with what I'm passionate about and this really important big challenge that humanity is facing. Every day, I get inspired by people working on climate in some way. It makes me feel less alone and less anxious about the future. That can be really empowering to stay in the role and keep working.
