What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?
To be honest, I actually laughed when I first heard that. I thought, "Grad school?"
But because of the job title, you usually need at least a master's or PhD to transition into these roles. This is because so much of what I do involves the "brains" of anything.
This could be in software or guidance application control, where lives or millions of dollars could be at stake. Because of this, you typically need more education.
If you're more interested in hardware, that could be a starting point. You could then transition into those other roles down the line.
