What are the main responsibilities within your role?
A product manager leads a team of engineers to build products for the business. This role can look different at every company.
At Visa, a FinTech company, I build financial or FinTech-related products. At Google, the role could involve hardware or software development.
I'm part of a 24-month rotational program called the APM program. We do four six-month rotations around the company.
My first rotation was with the ATM team, focusing on how to get cash. I worked on an interface called the ATM Locator, a website where you can find ATMs.
I also worked on a backend interface to allow users to open ATMs and update their addresses. My current rotation is with Visa Commercial Solutions.
We build technology for the government. This includes working with teams focused on the Department of Defense (DOD) efficiency.
My team tracks waste, fraud, and abuse for government clients like the DOD, including the Army, Navy, and Marines, as well as the DHS. I'm developing products and features, and creating an internal roadmap for development.
