What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
Sure. The "big dick" has been a very fascinating aspect for me, especially while I was in India, in Bangalore. I always used to think, while using Google and Microsoft products, how these companies have a lot of resources to use technology to solve different problem statements.
I've always dreamed about being at the center of this space to get exposure to that technology and learn how we can use it to solve problems. That's the very reason I wanted to be in this space.
Also, after I joined, I've seen the greatest talent at Amazon. For example, people who have done PhDs or worked on products. I met the person who was the first-ever product manager for the Amazon payment page from the very beginning. Being able to meet such talent, work with such talent, and learn from them is the biggest takeaway for me from this industry.
Secondly, I think there's the possibility and scale of solutioning with technology. For example, you're seeing ChatGPT being a buzz recently, and we've also seen how technology can solve problems in healthcare anywhere across the world. E-commerce is also a place where, for example, during COVID, when I was in India, I come from a very small town where we don't have access to a lot of things.
But during COVID, I've seen Amazon shipments being sent to the nook and cranny of my hometown in auto-rickshaws. That's a phenomenon I've seen, how technology can bring access to anything and everything to anyone, anywhere in the world. So, I feel great to be in this space.
