Biggest Challenges Faced By a Founder as a Self Employed Consultant

Hector's biggest challenge as CEO/Founder of OnePlusWe is "finding the right clients" -- those with established leadership experience seeking to evolve and who will challenge them to help them grow, though working with new leaders can also be enjoyable. As a self-employed individual, they prioritize selectivity over simply taking any client.

What is your biggest challenge in your role?

The biggest challenge in my role, that's a really good question. I'll look at it from the peer perspective. It's really finding the right clients, as I personally just don't want to work with anybody. I really don't; I want to be selective.

I want to work with people at a certain caliber, who have been in leadership roles for some time and now want to evolve or change in one direction or another. Could be they're moving up in a corporation, moving sideways, or starting a new business. Who knows?

But they are at a certain level where they have an understanding of what it is to lead and what it's to be an executive. They just want to move to another level. That doesn't mean I don't want to work with people that just started in their leadership, because that can also be a lot of fun. But I really enjoy working with people that challenge me to help them.
