What does the day in the life of a business operations manager look like?
A day in the life can change pretty frequently, like with most jobs. For the most part, you log in and have a stand-up with your boss. We go over our priorities for the day or for the week, depending on what day of the week it is.
Priorities can always change too, so it's nice to connect and make sure we're working on the correct things. After that, we'll typically follow up with people about projects, striking it on status. We're working to update the slide deck so that we're not doing it last minute before review meetings.
We also have a lot of strategy alignment meetings. Those will be with our senior leadership, just to make sure that we're tracking what they want to see as well. If new projects are getting prioritized, we'll kick those off. We'll have some different process improvement projects as well that the business operations team works on.
So, instead of having other people do things for us, we will normally have some tasks that we work on in order to achieve those goals.
