What did you do in college to set you up for success in your career?
In college, after pivoting from undecided to biomedical engineering, I found it helpful to surround myself with others in engineering. This created a larger support system.
To achieve this, I joined a professional engineering fraternity. This experience greatly benefited me as I learned how to interview and improve my resume. I also had mentors who provided guidance.
My undergraduate mentor even assisted me with my MBA application process, which I believe was a significant factor in my career development.
Beyond academics, I pursued activities I was passionate about, such as being an orientation leader for incoming freshmen and transfer students. This experience helped me develop my understanding and openness to others. It also significantly contributed to building my soft skills.
Therefore, I recommend pursuing your interests while also surrounding yourself with supportive people.
