Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Please include any internships or jobs you had before your current role.
Absolutely. When I was an undergrad, I loved biology and problem-solving. I knew I couldn't become a doctor, and I didn't want to do manual labor all day, so I decided to pursue biomedical engineering to lean into my love for problem-solving and biology.
During undergrad, I worked at a doctor's office for practical experience and also did research at a lab at UCI. I used my experience from a practical 3D printing class to land my first job as a contractor in manufacturing engineering at Edwards Life Sciences. I later pivoted to a full-time role in supplier quality, where I worked for a total of six years.
Towards the end of my time there, I knew I wanted to develop my business acumen to better understand a company's strategic roadmap. So, I decided to pursue my MBA at UCLA Anderson. I wanted to make the most of my experience by taking classes I was passionate about and found myself gravitating towards entertainment and strategy.
After applying for internships, I landed a four-month internship at a Japanese mobile gaming company. Recently, I got a job as an MBA intern working in digital media strategy and analytics at an entertainment company. I saw opportunities for which I qualified for the six-month post-graduation window.
This really helped, especially in this tough job market, to look more closely at those descriptions. It's been really great so far, kind of my dream.
