What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

The most exciting thing about working at Zillow for me is how easily I can relate to it as a consumer. Everyone knows what Zillow is; it's a consumer app you can directly interact with. I can go on the app right now and look for a house.

I'm pretty sure the majority of people across the country have looked for an apartment or a house at some point. This makes it really relatable, especially considering the types of acquisitions and deals I work on. It's fulfilling to be a customer of our own product.

It makes my work more enjoyable when I can directly see the impact of the companies I acquire. I can go on the application and see, "Oh, I acquired that company that did X." That's super interesting to me.

I've also always been interested in real estate in general and how the transaction process works. It's a really complicated process that the average American, the average person, probably only goes through once in their life.

Most people only buy one or maybe two houses, so nobody is an expert at buying a house. There are so many different steps involved. Being able to work at a company that is trying to make that easier is something I can totally relate to.

That's what gets me excited about working at Zillow. I see the direction the company is going, and it excites me about the possibilities for the home buying process in the next five to ten years.
