Favorite Parts of Working in Government Child Support as a Budget Supervisor
Godfrey, a Budget Supervisor at L.A. County Child Support Services, finds the most rewarding aspect of the public service industry to be "the opportunity to contribute to the community," specifically by assisting families "rebuild themselves after hardship" and achieve financial stability. This work, Godfrey hopes, will eventually lead to impactful, long-lasting community outreach projects.

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
The thing I enjoy most about being a public servant in LA County is the opportunity to contribute to the community. At Child Support Services, we help custodial parents become financially able to support their children. We assist them in obtaining child support from non-custodial parents.
Our work helps families rebuild after hardship. We aim to help them live full lives in LA County, which is a very expensive place to live.
Ultimately, I hope to become a lead on long-lasting community projects. This would involve community outreach and assisting those in need.
