What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?
It's a great question. My background in undergrad was environmental engineering, which is much more black and white. You either have the answer or you don't.
I think marketing, because it is very heavily creative and opinionated, can be challenging. Even if you have the best ideas, someone may feel differently about them, and both ideas can be right. That was hard for me to grapple with because I was so used to the black and white of engineering.
It does slow down the process sometimes because you have a lot of competing opinions and there are no absolute answers. I think just kind of prepping me to not get stressed about that would have been really helpful.
I still get stressed about it, even though I've been doing this for 10 years. But that would have been a nice morning.
