What skills are important for a job like yours?
That's a great question. I think there are really three key aspects.
The first is passion. Being passionate and believing in the products you're working on and the company vision is really important. It filters into everything you do, with the products and the people you work with.
The second is project management. I think that personally, my background as an environmental engineer in undergrad helps me stay organized. It also allows me to move really fast when I need to, which has been an asset in previous roles and my current one.
The third is not to take yourself too seriously. We work in these roles, these jobs, eight-plus hours a day. I think it's important to have fun with what you do and enjoy it as much as you can. Of course, there will be stressful moments. But trying to just have a little empathy for people is really important.
