Entry-Level Positions for Aspiring Brand Marketers at Snap Inc.

Gideon, a Global Brand Marketing Manager at Snap Inc., advises undergraduates interested in marketing to explore entry-level roles like "marketing coordinator" or "marketing specialist," suggesting that "saying yes to as many things as" possible helps one discover their preferences within the broad field of brand marketing. The key, according to Gideon, is finding a position that generates excitement and aligns with individual interests.

What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?

It's a great question. There are a lot of internships and positions called marketing coordinator or marketing specialist. I think what helped me when I was in undergrad and looking to go into marketing was really saying yes to as many things as I could.

I had a direction of where I wanted to go, which was sort of broad brand marketing. Versus now, where someone might be more into influencers and could try to work for an influencer agency. There are a bunch of different paths now, I would say.

But for me, it was really helpful to just keep throwing myself into things so I could learn about what I like and don't like. There are tons of entry-level positions. I think really the challenge is, which one do you want to do, and which one are you going to be stoked about?
