What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I definitely like that every day is different. I really enjoy a hybrid schedule.
I was working remotely at a previous position and had the realization that I am an extrovert and need in-person interaction to fill my cup. So, a hybrid schedule is the perfect middle ground for me.
I also really appreciate the flexibility that remote work gives me. I traveled a lot this summer, which I'm really grateful for. A lot of weddings, I'm at that age, which is weird.
I was able to work from the road, which is amazing. I'm honestly able to lock in while working not in my usual environment, which is interesting. I like being able to change my surroundings.
I also like seeing the impact of my work. Writing a grant and then having it be awarded is incredible. On a smaller scale, coming up with a social media or email campaign and then seeing the analytics and performance is also rewarding.
Being able to see the results of my work, but then also powering this really powerful movement is important. Knowing that these dollars employ local youth and developing relationships with them is also a key part of my work.
Knowing that is the thread through everything is the best thing for me. I'm not just working to put dollars in someone's pocket. Having that larger sense of purpose is absolutely fundamental for me.
