What's your biggest challenge in your current role?
Honestly, I'm neurodivergent, so I have ADHD, and time management has always been a huge deficit for me. Finally, in my adult life, I learned the coping mechanisms I didn't have in college.
These are the ways I trick myself into managing my time. This is especially important in a role where my responsibilities are so varied and significant, and there's so much to do. I could easily hyperfocus on updating the entire website in a day or revamping all of our social media, and lose an entire day where I also had grant tasks to fulfill.
Setting timers for myself, knowing how I cope best, and knowing how I can trick myself into getting a lot of things done rather than going down the rabbit hole has been historically my biggest challenge in jobs. But I've developed coping mechanisms to support myself.
Having a really supportive team, and members of my team who really see and get me, I think is also huge for that.
