Favorite Parts Of Working In The IT Industry As An IT Manager
Freida enjoys the ability to help people through cybersecurity and compliance, unexpectedly finding passion in the latter because it "imposes regulations on companies" to protect both employees and individuals from data breaches that could have severe consequences. Ultimately, Freida's enthusiasm stems from the chance to keep teaching people how to protect themselves, thereby "helping people at the end of the day."

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
At the end of the day, I enjoy helping people the most. I'm a nerd and happen to be very passionate about cybersecurity. I don't know many people who are as enthusiastic about it as I am, which is totally fair.
Compliance is not something I thought would be my passion in my career, but it's actually very helpful. It imposes regulations on companies and helps employees and people in their personal lives have good practices.
This way, you're not hacked and don't have situations like 23andMe, where your health insurance data is exposed to the point where insurance companies will probably deny you for preexisting conditions. Really, it's about protecting people and teaching them how to protect themselves.
