How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

Video games don't have as much structure or rigor as bigger tech firms, or even film and TV. People who do really well in video games are those who are very flexible and adaptable.

You always have to be prepared for what might come next. It's good to have plans A, B, and C, and also plan for D when things go wrong.

People who can be really flexible can be very adaptable. This isn't to say that if you like rules and structure, you won't do well. You just need to understand that video games are a dynamic space.

Things come up unexpectedly with some frequency. It helps if you're more fluid and don't feel that missing a deadline is the end of it. Again, people who will do well are those who are flexible, adaptable, and can mold themselves to the situation as needed.
