What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?

That's a great question. The thing I wish I had known was that this is a viable career path. When I graduated from college, I honestly didn't know this job existed in this capacity.

I probably would have taken different classes had I known this was a route. I think that goes to really doing your research about what's out there and not being afraid to talk to people in the industry.

I always say, if you're interested in getting into theater, grab a playbill from a production you like. Go through the staff and design page and find a job you don't know about.

Reach out to them and see if they can tell you about their job. Once you learn about something, you might discover it's a really good fit. That's what happened to me; I kind of fell into a job that turned out to be a great fit.
