What do you enjoy most about being a finance associate?
What I like about being in finance in general is that you get to see how the business is performing. You get to monitor the business.
If you're an engineer, have a liberal arts degree, or are a producer, you're building and making things. If you're in sales, you just don't have the same ability to run the business.
That's why I like finance. I like running the business, and I work at Apple right now. I don't know anything about the tech within our devices.
I know about the devices and what they do, just like everyone else. But I have a very basic understanding of the products, and that doesn't hold me back in excelling in my role. All I need to do is understand the financials of the company and how we're performing.
Then you're able to make calls on the products themselves or on other things within the business that drive value. That's what I love most about being in finance: being able to lead the business, make decisions, and help the company excel in the long run.
